Electricity as the cornerstone of technological evolution
Thanks to its unique characteristics, electricity is the cornerstone underpinning both the ongoing digital revolution and the potential for that revolution to have real, large-scale effects.
Our vision is to lead the energy transition towards sustainable models, integrating advanced technologies for energy generation, transmission and management. Through innovation in smart grids, energy storage systems and the generation of electricity from renewable sources, the DEI aims to provide solutions both to support data processing, storage and transmission, and to translate the results of that processing into physical actions that can tangibly transform reality.

Our vision encompasses a society in which pervasive intelligence supports every aspect of daily life, enhancing people’s well-being and the competitiveness of organisations.
Placing people at the centre of technological development is a fundamental principle, guiding innovations for the benefit of the community and ensuring that technological progress meets real human needs.
Through the synergy between electronics, the study of electromagnetic fields, telecommunications, automation, computer engineering, bioengineering, electrical measurements, electrical engineering, electric drives and electrical systems, the DEI aims to develop innovative solutions for productivity, health and wellbeing, and sustainability.
