Abstract

Nowadays, Dual Active Bridge (DAB) converters are widely spread in isolated bi-directional DC/DC converters used in EV charging stations, energy storage systems, onboard chargers, etc. In this presentation, the TIDA-010054 10-kW DAB TI reference design is presented. You will learn the basic functionality of a DAB converter operating in single- and extended-phase-shift. Furthermore, a detailed explanation on how to design a DAB converter is provided (power MOSFET, gate driver, MCU, current sensing, etc.). In conclusion, the reference converter will be simulated and discussed.
