Abstract

Our modern world, as we all experienced in these days, it’s dominated by uncertainty and volatility; in the global electronics business the competition is fiercer than ever dealing with always more demanding customers, consistency in product quality and reputation play a major role into their choices. Therefore controlling reliability and quality of productions, especially of mass productions, it is not only a matter for the operations department and for its plants located all over the world, but then it is a core value for all the parts of any modern manufacturing company. It starts with the concept and design phase itself, continues during the whole R&D activities by embedding into the company culture best practices, processes and tools that give (more) control and repeatability over (what is still) the very creative process of inventing future product and to achieve more success than failures.
