About the speaker

Sergio Fortes received his M.Sc. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Málaga in 2008. He began his career being part of the German (DLR), French (CNES) and European (ESA) space agencies and the satellite operator Avanti Communications plc, where he participated in various research, consultancy and coordination activities on broadband and aeronautical satellite communications. In 2012 he joined the University of Málaga as researcher, where in 2017 he obtained his PhD in Telecommunication Engineering. His topics of interest include cellular communications, satellite systems, smart-city, self-organizing networks (SON) and advance applications of machine learning techniques.

Abstract

This seminar will develop on the application of context information for the self-organization (operation, administration and management - OAM) of novel small cell networks. It will provide a general introduction to the general concepts and state of the art on small cells, self-organizing networks (SON) and self-healing as well as a description of the research line of the speaker on the field of context-aware SON.
