Technological development centred on Man and energy sustainability: excellence of the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Information Engineering “Guglielmo Marconi” in 2023-2027
The project aims at enriching and evolving the DEI’s competences with regard to the development of enabling technologies to develop Human-Centred Smart Environments (AICU) with a high energy sustainability.
A strong point in achieving the goal is the creation of two open, integrated laboratories: the outdoor AICU-Lab and the indoor AICU-Lab. The two new laboratories will provide the ideal setting to design, experiment and demonstrate in an integrated, interdisciplinary manner. The technologies used will aim to monitor the behaviour and health of humans and the environment, study the interaction between humans and autonomous smart environments, and support sustainable energy transition technologies.
The laboratories will also be catalysts for interdisciplinary research activities and will provide a showcase for the project to a technical and non-technical audience, with impacts on research, training and citizen engagement.
The project includes structural investments, recruitment of new teaching and administrative staff, and interdisciplinary teaching initiatives.
