Abstract

Today everyone knows how crucial network security is and how it must be embedded into everything an organization does. But how about dealing with an attacker with access to the physical systems and the hardware components? Present talk aims to explore security and trust from the hardware perspective, more and more urgent to deal due to the stunning growth of IoT and connected systems, from the point of view of a Security Testing company. Specifically, we will talk about Security Testing activities, including specific technical aspects (hardware reverse engineering, I/O interface finding and analysis, firmware extraction, recovering of cryptographic material and sensitive data, cryptanalysis of communication protocols) and real-world use cases.
