Power systems engineering

The Power Systems Engineering group carries out research in the areas of production, transmission, distribution and utilization of electricity with particular reference to smart grids, micro grids, energy communities, smart cities, electromagnetic transients in power systems and the protection of overhead lines against the effects of direct and indirect lightning. The scientific activity is carried out in the framework of the programmed activities of the Italian University power system group and within the framework of several national and international research collaborations: ARCES, CESI, CRIEPI, EdF, ENEL, ENI, EPFL, HERA, NTNU-Trondheim, RSE, Univ. Doshisha of Kyoto, Univ. of Florida, Univ. of Genova, Instituto Superior Tecnico of Lisbon, Politecnico di Milano, The Univ. of Manchester, Univ. of Sao Paulo - Brazil, Tsinghua Univ., Univ. of Zagabria, Florida State Univ.
