The group is currently involved in the following research activities: power electronics, on-board, off-board, and wireless chargers for electric vehicles (EV), fast EV charging systems, energy storage systems, battery management systems (BMSs), converter controllers based on DSP and FPGA platforms, power electronics Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) validation, wireless power transmission by inductive or capacitive coupling, single-phase and three-phase resonant converters, multi-stage and multilevel inverters, analytical determination and minimization of current ripple in PWM converters, modeling, design and optimization of magnetic devices, thermal aspects of photovoltaic modules, modelling, design, and optimization of PV systems, energy management systems, renewable sources and stationary energy storage integration in EV chargers (Smart Charging), forecasting methods for EV power demand and PV generation, public transport electrification, trolleybus DC grid models and their integration with EV charging points.
