The research activity is mainly oriented to the following topics: design and development of instruments, methods and sensors for measuring electrical quantities in electrical power systems; procedures and systems for the metrological characterization of medium voltage current and voltage transformers; measurements for the diagnosis of electrical components and systems; design of instruments for measuring physical quantities and their metrological characterization; analysis of the reliability of components and systems through both the design of specific measurement systems and the development of reliability models oriented to the intelligent prediction of the life of the component or system; SIL and RAMS analysis of complex systems; implementation of Digital Signal Processing algorithms to improve the performance of measuring instruments and sensors.
