Embedded and Integrated Electronic Systems

The research concerns the development of new generations of electronics systems either in the form of Integrated Systems on Chip (SoCs) or Embedded Systems (on printed circuit boards). Activities on the first field include design and optimization of parallel ultra-low-power architectures for near-sensor data analysis and Internet of Things (IoT); design of accelerators for training and inference of emerging artificial intelligence algorithms; advanced thermal control and monitoring techniques for power management in Multi- and Many-core system on chip; exploitation of ICT technologies to reduce power consumption of VLSI systems; hardware-software co-design of smart objects and wearable objects based on wireless sensors and actuators.
