Abstract
Micro-electro-mechanical systems are a consolidated and fastly growing field of application of electronics. The seminar will provide an overview on micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) through a review of history, applications and principles of fabrication. Micro fabrication techniques will be discussed in detail. Finally, applications of MEMS in the fields of Sensors, Actuators, RF applications, and Energy Harvesting will be discussed.
Short bio: Dott. Guido Sordo
Guido Sordo received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Trento, in 2016, with a focus on the design and characterization of novel multimodal MEMS piezoelectric energy harvesters. He is currently a Researcher with the Micro System Technology Research Group at Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Trento, Italy. His academic interests lie in the field of mechanical MEMS sensors, and in particular focusing on the design of force sensors.
